The affair continues to make a lot of noise in Italy and more particularly in Naples. If Victor Osimhen was one of the great architects of the two great victories acquired by the Partenopei against Udinese and Lecce, the Nigerian striker is still at the heart of a controversy. The latter having started after the draw against Bologna, a match during which the former LOSC player missed a penalty before leaving furious with his coach, Rudi Garcia, when he was replaced. After several chaotic days in the Neapolitan city, the 24-year-old player has decided to remove almost all of his publications under the Partenopei colors on Instagram. But this Sunday, the Lagos native decided to break the silence to clarify things.

“Coming to the city of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me. The people of Naples have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us. The passion of the Neapolitan people fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride” first confided Victor Osimhen before returning to the accusations made against him: “The accusations against the people of Naples are false. I have many friends who are Neapolitan and who are part of my family and my daily life. I appreciate Nigerians and all those who have raised their voices to support me and reach out to me. I will always be grateful to them. Let us support unity, respect and understanding. Forza Napoli Semper!” The message has gotten through!
