The Racing Club of Lens continues! After its victory in front of its supporters during the previous day against Toulouse FC, the Sang et Or did it again this Friday evening for the 7th day of Ligue 1 on the pitch of RC Strasbourg by winning by a score of 1 goal at 0.

The Lensois took the three points thanks to a goal from Elye Wahi at the start of the match. The former Montpellier player scored his first goal under his new colors and allowed his team to temporarily climb to 13th place. Despite this important goal which gave victory to his team, the Lensois striker did not escape criticism from his coach Franck Haise.

For the French manager, Wahi can do better, especially in the collective game with his partners: “There are players who are right to be demanding of him. So he got lectured a bit by one or two players. I think they are right. You have to be demanding with quality players. He knows that he did a very important thing this evening for RC Lens and for himself too, by scoring this goal, which gives us the victory. But he also knows that there are still things to work on to be even more efficient. He is capable of doing much better in the game.”

Confident before the match against Arsenal

In difficulty at the start of the season, RC Lens is gradually regaining confidence. The Lensois are on a series of three matches without defeat in all competitions. A good omen before the reception of Arsenal this Tuesday in the Champions League for the 2nd day.

A big poster that the Lensois will approach with complete serenity and in a Stade Bollaert ready to vibrate. Elye Wahi’s partners will do everything to take the 3 points. A victory could allow them to send a signal in this group B, but also to take the lead of the group. The Gunners have been warned. The French will be very tough.
