Paris has not yet abandoned the idea of securing the services of Portuguese winger Bernardo Silva.
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is set to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain for the third year in a row, after a new contract clause gave the French champion club fresh hope.
Bernardo Silva available for €55M
The Lusitania international, currently sidelined due to an injury picked up at the start of the season, signed a new contract until 2026 last month, ending speculation over the Portugal international’s future.
Silva had been targeted by FC Barcelona, PSG and Saudi Arabia during the last transfer window, but Manchester City managed to hold on to the midfielder despite losing Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez.
Silva is said to have wanted to move closer to his country Portugal, which has fueled speculation over a possible move away from Manchester City, despite Pep Guardiola’s desire to keep the 29-year-old.
Although he has signed a new contract until 2026, a release clause of 55 million euros would have given Paris Saint-Germain hope over their ambition to sign the Portuguese playmaker.
