Absent since the start of the season due to a thigh injury, Nuno Mendes will finally undergo surgery in Finland. The PSG left side will be absent for around four months.

This is the very bad news of the week for Paris Saint-Germain. Euphoric after its resounding victory in the Classic against Olympique de Marseille (4-0), the capital club has just provided an update on the state of health of its side, Nuno Mendes.

Four months of absence for Nuno Mendes

Absent since the start of the season due to a hamstring injury, the Portuguese international seemed close to recovery. But the progress of his injury is not satisfactory. “After new medical examinations and a new in-depth study of the situation of Nuno Mendes, the Paris Saint-Germain medical department has taken the decision to carry out surgery this Friday in Finland”indicates PSG this Wednesday via its social networks.

The absence of the former Sporting player is estimated at four months, which gives hope for a return next February. His injury is reminiscent of the problems suffered by his new teammate Ousmane Dembélé, who has already had thigh surgery three times, also in Finland. In the absence of Nuno Mendes, it is Lucas Hernandez who occupies the left flank of the PSG defense. And who knows if Luis Enrique will not be tempted to call on Layvin Kurzawa a few times during the coming weeks.
