Milan wins by turning

With a revamped attack, AC Milan won at Cagliari (1-3) this Wednesday as part of the 6th day of Serie A.

Winning bet for Stefano Pioli. The AC Milan coach chose to leave Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao on the bench this Wednesday evening in Cagliari, and that did not prevent the Rossoneri from winning in Sardinia (1-3). Milan had a fairly new face, particularly in attack with the trio Pulisic-Okafor-Chukwueze, and the tenure in the midfield of Frenchman Yacine Adlu, who had not yet played this season.

It was Cagliari who opened the scoring with Zito Luvumbo (29th), author of a powerful strike which surprised Marco Sportiello, Mike Maignan’s understudy (injured in the thigh). But the Milanese woke up, and they turned things around just before the break, thanks to Noah Okafor (40th), scorer of his first goal in Italy, and Fikayo Tomori (45th). A nice strike from Ruben Loftus-Cheek (60th) allowed the Lombard club to take cover in the second half.

This fifth success in six matches confirms AC Milan’s good start to the season, simply marred by the slap received in the derby against Inter (5-1). In the standings, the Rossoneri have temporarily returned to the level of their neighbor, who will play host to Sassuolo in the evening.
