Big news for Morocco!

The organizing country of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is known. Morocco was officially named Wednesday by CAF.

The executive committee of the Confederation of African Football has delivered its verdict. Meeting this Wednesday in Cairo, the body announced that it was entrusting the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to Morocco. Information which is not really a surprise since the country whose national team reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, was favorite after the withdrawal of Guinea, initially designated as the organizing country.

Ultimately not ready to take charge of such a competition, Guinea withdrew and it was therefore up to CAF to designate the new elected official. It will therefore be a Morocco which has greatly developed its infrastructure in recent years, which will host the event in a little less than two years. At the same time, the name of the organizers of the 2027 edition was revealed. A trio of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda has been appointed.
