For the first round of the German Cup, Bayern Munich traveled to Preußen Münster after having successfully entered the Champions League against Manchester United and then their convincing clear and flawless victory against Bochum. The Bavarians quickly opened the scoring through Eric Choupo-Moting on a cross from Mathys Tel (9th, 0-1). A few minutes later, Serge Gnabry injured his arm following a collision with an opposing player and he had to give way to Frans Krätzig (11th). Despite this, Thomas Tuchel’s players continued to perform in this meeting.

If the Bavarians accentuated their small advantage with goals from Konrad Laimer (40th, 0-1), Frans Krätzig (45th+5, 0-3) and Mathys Tel at the end of the match (86th, 0-4), the joy was going to be short-lived since this Wednesday the duration of Serge Gnabry’s unavailability is finally known and that should not help the German club. Indeed, the Bayern Munich striker suffered a fracture of the ulna of his left forearm and he will therefore have to be operated on, as we can read in the official press release from the Bavarian club. The latter will subsequently miss several weeks of competitions before making his comeback on the lawns!
