Currently 3rd in La Liga with five wins in six days, Real Madrid have had a far from disastrous start to the season. But the defeat in the Madrid derby, against Atlético last weekend, seems to have left some traces in the Spanish press and among Madrid supporters. But at a press conference, before the match against Las Palmas, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti wanted to reassure everyone: “Public opinion can express itself and say what it wants. All ideas are respectful. But I can’t get into this game. I have to evaluate things with more balance and, fortunately, I have that in my blood. I am a calm person who has the ability to evaluate things. Questioning a team that has won six games out of seven… it seems excessive to me.”.
“Criticism is part of my job, the coach’s job. When you are in charge of Madrid and things are not going well, they flourish. It’s logic. It doesn’t affect me. That said, I have to assess the things we are not doing well, which are few, but we need to work on. My assessment is different from that of many people. So far we have worked well and we must continue.”Ancelotti then continued in a press conference in front of journalists.
