Sneaking to Paris Saint-Germain during the 2016-2017 season, Grzegorz Krychowiak decided to end his international career. He will continue in the club.
A page is turning for Grzegorz Krychowiak. Now aged thirty-three, the Pole has made the decision to stop playing for his team. An international retirement announced for the defensive midfielder who was called up for the first time in 2008. Selected a hundred times, Krychowiak scored five goals and distributed six assists in the colors of his country. With Poland, he notably took part in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, as well as the 2016 and 2021 Euros.
It was through a message posted on social networks that the player who played for a number of Ligue 1 clubs announced his decision. “ Having played a hundred matches with the white eagle on my chest has always been a great honor for me. » Even if he will no longer appear in the Polish jersey, Krychowiak will continue his club career, having signed this summer and for a season with the Saudi club Abha.
Flop at PSG
Recruited by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016 after he shone with Sevilla FC by winning two Europa Leagues (2015 and 2016), the midfielder failed to establish himself there. A flop for him who ultimately only played nineteen matches with the Parisian club, in all competitions, without scoring or offering an assist. With Poland, his last selection was therefore marked by a defeat against Albania (2-0) on September 10, in qualifying for Euro 2024.
