Courted by Saudi Arabian clubs last summer, Rafael Leao is not interested in their offers at the moment.

Saudi Arabia may have attracted many big players during the 2023 summer transfer window, but it is not yet completely unanimous. While Axel Witsel criticized the fact that most players claim to join the Saudi championship for the sports project, Rafael Leao does not seem to be interested in a departure in the League of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema or even Sadio Mané.

Leao favors the sporty aspect

Major player of theAC Milan in constant progress since his arrival in 2019, the Portuguese international has, like many other players, been approached by Saudi clubs – but also big European teams – ready to offer him an astronomical salary to join their ranks. Interviewed by the magazine GQthe former Lille player said he was not interested in Saudi Arabia, at least for the moment. “Proposals from the Saudi League? In my opinion, the Champions League is worth more than 10 million euros in salary. I haven’t had great results yet to agree to go to this league. I am focused on achieving great things with AC Milan. That’s why I signed a new contract a few months ago”he explained.

While he extended until 2028 with the Rossoneri, Leao still hopes to achieve big things with the Lombard club before embarking on a possible exotic transfer.
