It’s really a crisis at Chelsea, beaten by Aston Villa at home (0-1) and reduced to ten after the expulsion of Malo Gusto on Sunday during the 6th day of the Premier League.
Already in the hot seat before facing Aston Villa, Mauricio Pochettino will not be more reassured after his sixth official match at the helm of Chelsea. The Argentine coach, who arrived on the banks of the Thames last May, could do nothing to prevent the Blues from suffering their third defeat of the season in the Premier League (0-1). The second at Stamford Bridge after that conceded against Nottingham Forest, by the same score, at the beginning of September.
Against the Villans, the Londoners confirmed their offensive difficulties, with only 8 shots attempted, including 4 on target. It would have taken more to worry Emiliano Martinez and his teammates, who were also able to count on the nervousness of their opponents, embodied by this too strong tackle from Malo Gusto shortly before the hour mark (58e). A sole which initially earned him a simple yellow card, transformed into red after the intervention of the VAR.

Should appeal Gusto’s red card – on second watch it’s beyond harsh; didn’t go through the player to get the ball and wasn’t reckless.
But doubt we will and they probs won’t discuss it on that VAR review show.

Reduced to ten, Axel Disasi’s partners then suffered and ended up breaking down, on the counter, on a strike from Ollie Watkins from a very tight angle (0-1, 73e). A goal which plunges the Blues a little further into crisis. Here they are fourteenth in the ranking with 5 points on the clock. Far from a top 4 to which Liverpool are clinging. The Reds, still undefeated, signed a fifth consecutive victory against West Ham (3-1) and remain two lengths behind Manchester City.
