The extension of a contract is most of the time accompanied by a salary increase. Xavi logically benefited from this by signing a new lease with FC Barcelona. The announcement was made official on Friday by the Spanish club.

Barça coach doubled his income, says RAC1, increasing from approximately 4 to 8 million euros gross per year. A fair reward for the one who brought back the Spanish championship title last season.
The Catalan media also recall that Xavi had accepted fairly modest emoluments, by signing for FC Barcelona in November 2021, compared to other coaches of posh European clubs.
With this increase, the former emblematic midfielder of the Catalans cannot match Ronald Koeman. His Dutch predecessor received 9M per year.
