This Sunday evening, at 9 p.m., Atlético de Madrid welcomes Real Madrid as part of the 6th day of La Liga. A derby which promises to be electric between the Colchoneros who hope to bring down the impressive Merengue at the start of the season. Irregular in the league, Diego Simeone’s men are coming off two poor performances in a row: a 3-0 defeat against Valencia and a 1-1 draw against Lazio in the Champions League. Opposite, the Madrilenians are irresistible, without being flamboyant, well helped by Jude Bellingham, the man to do everything until now while awaiting the returns of senior players such as Vinicius Jr in particular.

For this meeting, Atlético should play in its usual 3-5-2 according to A.S.. Oblak in goal, accompanied by a defensive line composed in order of Lino, Hermoso, Giménez, Savic and Molina. In front of them, Saul and Llorente should be associated with Koke or Witsel. Finally, Morata and Griezmann will most likely line up in attack. On the Real Madrid side, nothing surprising either. Carlo Ancelotti should trust Kepa, replaced by Fran Garcia, Alaba, Rüdiger and Vazquez to help him. A diamond midfielder with Kroos or Tchouaméni, Camavinga, Valverde and Bellingham in an advanced position should see the light of day. Rodrygo and Joselu to complete on the offensive front a 4-3-1-2 which is working well so far. If successful, the Merengue would take the lead in La Liga and push El Cholo’s men a little further.
