French icon Zinédine Zidane once again sees his name associated with one of the giants of European football.
Free since leaving Real Madrid more than two years ago, Zinédine Zidane could well return to center stage soon. A giant of English football would have approached him at the start of the season.
Zidane ready to return to the bench
The giant in question is Manchester United. According to the OkDiario media, the leaders of the English club have probed the French legend because of the poor results recorded at the start of the year. Erik Ten Hag, their current coach, is no longer very popular at Old Trafford.
The catastrophic start to the campaign does not only impact the club’s sporting sector. It also hampers the Glazer family’s attempts to sell the club.
Note that MU has already tried twice to recruit Zidane in the past, but the Frenchman rejected him. For the latter, the priority is to coach in a country whose language he speaks. And English is not really what he knows best. However, nothing is forbidden. And after being snubbed by the FFF in favor of Didier Deschamps, he may very well review his position in order to return to his profession and do it in a prestigious club.
