A radio host set himself the challenge of finding two French internationals: Jérémy Toulalan and Yoann Gourcuff.
Around fifteen years ago, Jérémy Toulalan and Yoann Gourcuff were among the main players in French football. In clubs and in selection, the two players were in the news. Then, suddenly, they disappeared from circulation.
Toulalan and Gourcuff return in “Lost of sight”
Marked by the Knysna episode, the duo of former Lyonnais took a step back. Their end of career was carried out in anonymity and once they left the football scene they never returned. Not even to give their news in a media. A discretion which calls out and which would have led Jérôme Rothen to question their fate.
The RMC Sport presenter, himself a former footballer, decided to reconnect with these two characters. Next Thursday, and as part of operation “Lost of sight”, he will try to contact them and understand if possible the reason which led them to cut themselves off from the world. He is not sure that he will succeed, but he will at least have the merit of trying his luck.
In addition to Toulalan and Gourcuff, the former PSG player will also seek to find traces of other “forgotten” French footballers. Throughout the week, he will try to call Aimé Jacques, Jean Tigana, Jacques-Henri Eyraud and Stéphane Guivarc’h.
