After their sad draw (0-0) against Newcastle on the first day of Group F of the Champions League, AC Milan wanted to get back on the path to victory, especially after the slap they received against Inter (1-5), last weekend. As part of the 5th day of Serie A, Stefano Pioli’s men crossed paths with Hellas Verona. A meeting which did not take long to turn in favor of the locals.

Buoyed by an early achievement from Rafael Leão (9th), captain of the day, the Rossoneri won by a short header (1-0). Solid defensively, although too soft on the offensive level, AC Milan also took advantage of the opponent’s clumsiness (2 shots on target out of 10 attempts) to secure their fourth victory of the season. In the standings, the Milanese move up to second place, just behind Inter who travel to Empoli this Sunday noon.
