Former OM striker Djibril Cissé thinks Jacques Abaradonado deserves to be named Marseille coach permanently.
Jacques Abardonado achieved his first on the OM bench. Thursday evening, in the Europa League, he managed to guide his troops to a positive result against Ajax in the Europa League. The Phocaeans secured the draw (3-3) even though they were two goals behind.
“Abardonado motivates his players”
This performance by the Olympians was widely praised outside. Among those who most appreciated this performance was the club’s former scorer, Djibril Cissé. Friday, on the L’Equipe channel, he complimented the players and also their coach.
“It was a very beautiful burst of pride, he confided. We experienced crises when we were players and I can tell you when there is a result like that at the end it feels a lot of good.”
Concerning Abardonado, Cissé not only liked his management but also his way of behaving on the bench: “I really liked his reaction on the bench, things are moving. When we see that the coach is in it too, it motivates.” Present on the same set, ex-French international Bernard Mendy also spoke highly of Abardonado:“A soldier of the club, he was always there. I hope for his sake that he stays”
Then asked whether OM is equipped to go to the end of this C3, Cissé replied: “There, we can’t say who will go to the end, but I want to be happy. I liked the Marseille reaction. So yes, why not Rennes or Marseille go get a trophy.”
