At the opening of the fifth day of the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart welcomes Darmstadt this Friday evening, and a question arises… Will Serhou Guirassy continue his frantic pace? A legitimate question given the great start to the season made by the former Stade Rennais and Amiens striker. Already the author of 14 goals and 2 assists in 28 matches in all competitions last season, the Guinean international (7 caps, 2 goals) seems, this time, determined to make an impression. Great architect of the 4th place currently occupied by the residents of the MHPArena, the 1m87 right-hander is, in fact, unstoppable.

A historic start to the season!

Author of a new hat-trick last Saturday, during Stuttgart’s victory on the Mainz pitch (1-3), Serhou Guirassy totals eight goals in four appearances, a monstrous average of two goals per match. During the first three days, the man who sees his contract run until June 2026 had already distinguished himself with two doubles against Bochum and Friborg before scoring against Leipzig despite the rout of his team (5-1). An exceptional statistical line which even allows him to surpass the biggest names in the exercise.

With “only” 7 goals in five days, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland must, as such, bow out. Note also that since the 1967-1968 season, never has a player had such a prolific start to the season in Germany after four days. Asked about his teammate’s impressive performance, Deniz Undav (27) could only get excited, totally won over by Guirassy’s ease at the start of the season. “Serhou’s success rate is completely crazy”assured the German in particular before continuing: “he is ice cold in front of goal and having fun like crazy”.

Hope it lasts…

“He’s in the form of his life in my opinion. He is incredibly strong. We hope it stays that way. Serhou knows what he has here. He identifies 100% with our cause”, added his trainer Sebastian Hoeness. Definitively transferred to the Swabians on July 1, Guirassy – loaned by Stade Rennais before that – in any case gives reason to his management. After scoring four goals in his last five league matches and one in the relegation play-off against Hamburg to help VfB stay in the Bundesliga, the Arles native continues his rise. A nice revenge for someone who had a first contrasting experience across the Rhine, marked by various injuries during his time in Cologne.

Today under the orders of Sebastian Hoeness, the person concerned – who recently declared feeling “comfortable” with his new team – is fully blossoming. “He played a big role in the cohesion of the team and also knows that he can count on his teammates”, confided, moreover, the sports director of Stuttgart, Fabian Wohlgemuth, just a few minutes after the new masterclass of his protégé in Mainz. Qualified with Guinea for the African Cup of Nations next January, Guirassy, currently at the top of the scoring rankings in BL but also at European level, should however miss several matches with the VfB, not to mention the many covetous which he should be the subject of during the winter transfer window. In the meantime, Darmstadt has been warned: the Guirassy machine is ready to set the Bundesliga on fire!
