During an interview with La Provence, Pablo Longoria returned to the treatment that was reserved for Igor Tudor when he arrived on the sidelines of Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2022.
Pablo Longoria has emptied his bag. In a long interview given to Provence, he has, in fact, let go about his situation and the threats received since his arrival at the head of OM. The manager also returned to the case of Igor Tudor, a more notable coach last season, who finally left at the end of the sporting exercise.
The Spaniard is therefore not the only one to have suffered pressure at OM. The Croatian also experienced, in a way, hell on earth at Olympique de Marseille. Longoria gave the details of the arrival of Tudor, complicated to say the least, and which shocked him at the time.
“Everyone was against him”
“What Igor suffered, I would not wish it on my worst enemy. He found himself in a club where everyone was against him: inside and outside. Many people were organizing to raise tension against him. People called on Jorge Sampaoli to come back, others asked to give power to the players. There were calls to supporters groups to remove the coach. When I returned to Marseille, I felt that the preseason resembled the 37th day of the championship, where you stake your life. That’s not normal. And, again, I didn’t see the situation coming. Igor told me (after the first day of Ligue 1, during which he was whistled): “I’m not going to bother you, if I’m not the right person for this club, I’m leaving, you don’t Give me nothing, I don’t want to put you in danger. It’s a very big club, but these situations make it too small.” I defended him to the death,” said Pablo Longoria.
