In bad shape from a sporting point of view, Manchester United is also in turmoil due to two extra-sporting affairs which considerably tarnish its image. Last August, the Mancunian club decided to get rid of Mason Greenwood due to his legal woes. After relieving themselves of a weight by lending the 21-year-old striker to Getafe, the Red Devils immediately had to deal with the scandal surrounding Antony, targeted by allegations of violence.

While Manchester United recently announced the sidelining of the Brazilian until further notice so that he can answer for his accusations of domestic violence, his case as well as that of Mason Greenwood continue to set fire within the English training. As revealed by The Sun this Wednesday, Red Devils general manager Richard Arnold was questioned by staff about the controversial management of Mason Greenwood and Antony according to sources close to the Mancunian club. In reaction to this, the boss of the Red Devils assured his colleagues during a “no holds barred” meeting organized on Zoom that under no circumstances would domestic violence be tolerated within its training. This statement from the English manager echoes recent exchanges between MU and Women’s Aid, a charity for women, which had rightly congratulated the club for the rapid sanctions taken against the two players. Incidentally, Richard Arnold took the opportunity to reaffirm his support for Erik Ten Hag, in the hot seat due to MU’s disappointing results.
