The Racing Club de Lens travels to Seville for its big return to the Champions League, this Wednesday (9 p.m.). Here is the expected lineup for the Sang et Or.
It is with slightly shaky legs that the Racing Club de Lens approaches its European campaign this Wednesday. The Sang et Or get straight to the heart of the matter as they challenge the top seed in their group, Sevilla FC, 21 years after their last participation in the most prestigious club competition. A perilous trip which could, however, allow Lens to definitively launch its season.
With one point taken in 5 Ligue 1 matches, the French vice-champion has clearly missed his start to the season. But opposite, Sevilla FC is also in doubt since the Andalusian club only has 3 small points in the Spanish championship.
The fact remains that Franck Haise will have to concoct a well-redesigned eleven for this gala match. In addition to long-term injured players like Farinez or Cabot, the Sang et Or coach must deal with the physical problems of important players like Pereira da Costa, Nampalys Mendy or Haidara. The good news concerns the return of Medina to the Lensois group.
Summer recruit Wahi is expected at kick-off, as are executives Danso, Abdul Samed, Machado, Sotoca and Thomasson. Samba will obviously be in goal.
The expected composition for Lens: Samba – Medina, Danso, Gradit – Machado, Abdul Samed, Thomasson, Aguilar – Sotoca, Fulgini – Wahi.
