Injured and forced out during the game on Tuesday evening between AC Milan and Newcastle, Mike Maignan has undergone examinations and knows what he is suffering from.
The concern was obviously great on the side of AC Milan (and the French team). Tuesday evening against Newcastle, during the first Champions League match played this season by his club (0-0), Mike Maignan was forced to come off in the 81st minute after feeling pain in his thigh LEFT. Wednesday morning, the international tricolor took exams whose results were reassuring.
Last year, almost at the same time, the former LOSC had already been betrayed by his physique, with a calf injury which notably deprived him of participation in the 2022 World Cup. This time, the problem is a priori much less serious. AC Milan indicated the results of the examinations in question: “ Mike Maignan felt pain in his left thigh flexor muscles. The MRI carried out Wednesday morning made it possible to exclude lesions.“
Ready for the Netherlands?
As for what happens next, the Rossonero club was a little more vague. Everything will depend on Maignan’s recovery speed. “ The evolution of his situation will be assessed daily“, specified Milan. It now remains to be seen when Mike Maignan will be recovered, and if he will be able to participate in the Blues’ next match scheduled for October 13 against the Netherlands (qualifying for Euro 2024).
