Author of the second Blaugrana achievement against the Belgians, the Polish striker therefore had the luxury of reaching the hundred goals scored in European Cups. He thus becomes the third player in history to achieve such a performance behind the two sacred monsters, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Counter blocked for CR7 and Messi
However, Lewandowski still remains very far behind “la Pulga” and “CR7”. At the top of the ranking, and although he no longer plays in the European Cup since joining the Saudi club Al-Nassr last January, Cristiano Ronaldo maintains a comfortable lead over his pursuers, with 145 goals scored in European competitions. Behind him, Lionel Messi ranks second with 132 pawns on the clock.
A total which should no longer change for the Argentinian, now a player in the American Major League Soccer at Inter Miami. Robert Lewandowski can therefore continue to get closer to the two leaders. At thirty-five, he’s not sure he still has enough time to catch up. Time will tell.
