Long held by Union Berlin, Real managed to win on the wire thanks to a goal from their providential man, Jude Bellingham (1-0).

Jude Bellingham strikes again! A man in form for Real at the start of the season, the England international hit the mark again this Tuesday. It was on the occasion of his team’s entry into the Champions League. It was he who freed Ancelotti with a goal full of opportunism scored in stoppage time in the game.

Real has been ineffective for a long time

Prowling the area like a pure attacker, the former Dortmund man was able to take advantage of a scramble following a blocked shot from Federico Valverde to turn around and push the ball into the empty net. An achievement which is worth a lot, because it allows the Madrilenians to avoid an unfortunate clash against a neophyte in the main event of the continent.

While they achieved a flawless performance in the championship, the Merengue almost got caught. There were 30 shots from them and the first 29 were all in vain. Joselu, Karim Benzema’s replacement at the forefront of the attack, is the one who harvested the most (6e54e and 63e). But he wasn’t the only one. The Brazilian Rodrygo also had interesting situations but he did not take advantage of them.

On the German side, however, there was no opportunity worthy of the name. Worse, the visitors didn’t put any of their shots on target. But, failing to be sharp in front, they were able to unite behind to repel the Iberian assaults for an hour and a half. Within a few seconds, their tactic would have paid off.
