After maintaining their withdrawal from the Spanish selection, a majority of the 2023 world champions were called up by the new boss of La Roja for women.
There resignation of Luis Rubiales, after the forced kiss affair, was not enough. Despite the departure of the 46-year-old leader from his post as president of the Spanish Football Federation, 21 of the 23 2023 world champions indicated last week that they remained behind the national team.
A choice ignored by Montse Tomé, the new coach of La Roja. Appointed at the beginning of September after the dismissal of Jorge Vilda, she announced on Monday the group called to play the next matches in the League of Nations. Fifteen of the Spanish world champions appear there.
