Fourteen months after her serious right knee injury, Marie-Antoinette Katoto finally returned to competition with PSG on Sunday evening, during a victory in Bordeaux (0-3).
Still too tight for the Champions Trophy that PSG lost to OL the previous week, Marie-Antoinette Katoto took advantage of the first day of D1 Arkema to make her comeback to the competition. The 24-year-old center forward took time to recover from the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee which knocked her off her feet during Euro 2022 in England, 14 months ago!
Katoto replaced Dutch winger Lieke Martens in the 75th minute of the match, while Gérard Prêcheur’s Parisiennes had made the difference in the space of four minutes in the first half, thanks to three other French internationals in the squad, Sakina Karchaoui from the penalty spot (31st), Sandy Baltimore (33rd) and Grace Geyoro (35th). 3-0 victory to start.
After the departure of Kadidiatou Diani, who strengthened the Lyon ogre, “MAK” is impatiently awaited to pile up the goals in favor of PSG, she who remained over 5 seasons with more than 20 goals with the Rouge et Bleu. Hervé Renard, the coach of Les Bleues, is also awaiting Katato’s return to form in order to call her up to the French team, while the Paris 2024 Olympic Games football tournament is looming next year.
