A notable absentee from Dortmund in Paris!

Although he had undoubtedly dreamed of a reunion with PSG at the time of the draw, Thomas Meunier was not on the trip to the capital.

Borussia Dortmund regained color on Saturday on the Freiburg pitch. Trailing at the break, the Ruhr club finally reversed the situation in the final minutes of the match to return from their trip to the heart of the Black Forest with a precious victory (4-2). Enough to approach the shock against PSG, in the Champions League, with newfound confidence.

At the forefront, the return from injury of Niclas Füllkrug was felt. While Sébastien Haller was transparent until his exit, the German international quickly came to the fore and played a crucial role in the Borussiens’ successful end to the match. In defense, however, Ramy Bensebaini was in great difficulty in his right lane and could be replaced by Marius Wolf.

He hasn’t played with Borussia since this winter…

On the left side, the Norwegian Julian Ryerson will once again be lined up. Thomas Meunier will stay in Dortmund. Firstly due to yet another injury. While he was overflowing with desire at the time of the restart, the Belgian international in fact injured his hamstring during the preparation match against Manchester United at the end of July. But above all, the Red Devil no longer fits into the plans of its coach, Edin Turzic. So much so that the latter did not include him in the list of players likely to play in the group stage of the Champions League.

The former Parisian, who has not played with the Borussia Dortmund first team since mid-March, will therefore not be in the return match on December 13 and is undoubtedly awaiting the next winter transfer window with some impatience. At the end of his contract next summer, Thomas Meunier could finally have a change of scenery, after three seasons in the Ruhr.
