Zinédine Zidane attended the derby between Castilla and the Atlético reserves on Saturday at the Real Madrid training center, and the Madrid media assure that a return of “Zizou” to the Merengues bench remains in the pipeline.
A month after attending a match of his son Luca (25 years old), goalkeeper of Eibar in the Spanish D2, Zinédine Zidane this time came to support Théo (21 years old), midfielder of Real Madrid Castilla. The Casa Blanca reserve team hosted a capital derby at the Di Stefano Stadium, Real Madrid City, on Saturday, on behalf of the 4th day of the third division (2-2).
Zidane was accompanied by his wife and his oldest son, Enzo (28), and tried to remain discreet, watching the match from a box, but his presence did not go unnoticed. The Madrid media almost all recalled that “Zizou” remained a possible avenue for President Florentino Pérez in the event of the departure of Carlo Ancelotti (the latter is announced as Brazil coach from next summer).
Castilla is led by Raul, former teammate of Zidane and captain of the Galacticos, and the 46-year-old technician is rightly announced as one of the coaches in the sights of the leaders, along with another former member of the house, Xabi Alonso . Zinédine Zidane, free since his departure from Real in 2021, ultimately has little chance of being recalled to the Merengues bedside.
