On Saturday, Tottenham escaped the trap against Sheffield by miraculously winning in added time (2-1). An important snatch victory which places Spurs just behind Manchester City in the Premier League. But after the match, the goalkeeper of the promoted club, Wes Foderingham, was the victim of racist insults and numerous threats which spoiled the party for the Londoners.

On X (former Twitter), Ange Postecoglou’s club wanted to communicate its support for the Blades goalkeeper: “We are disgusted to hear racist, abusive and threatening messages sent to Wes Foderingham following yesterday’s match. The Club strongly opposes any form of discrimination and will cooperate fully with Sheffield United and relevant agencies in their investigations. We will not hesitate to take the strongest possible measures, including club bans, against any so-called supporters found responsible.”
