After months of silence, Christophe Galtier spoke for the first time this Sunday of the accusations made against him, against a backdrop of racism.

In one and only season spent on the bench of Paris Saint-Germain, Christophe Galtier will not have been spared. For the first time on the bench of a media-overexposed club, the coach had to deal with several controversies and affairs. That of the sand yacht, following one of his jokes at a press conference. And even more serious, that relating to the accusations of racism which targeted him after the disclosure of an email from his former colleague at OGC Nice, Julien Fournier. After weeks and months of silence, he decided to speak out.

And it is through an interview broadcast on Sunday in the Channel Football Club, that Christophe Galtier discussed these various controversies. “ The sand yacht. It’s humor that we can do between us and it was especially humor that shouldn’t be done in public. And even less at that moment, because I pay very close attention to the planet. » Concerning the case opposing him to Julien Fournier, Christophe Galtier also insisted on denying any form of racism, indicating that he knew the why and how of the accusation.

“I am not accused of racism”

This is false and extremely false. People in football know me, players and managers know me, they know who I am. But obviously in such a matter, (…) we do not retain the people who gave me their support. (…) I know. I’m going to discuss it in December, that’s for sure. »And Christophe Galtier provides a clarification. “ I am not accused of racism. The prosecutor sends me to court for two offenses. ‘Moral harassment’ against certain players and ‘discrimination’ against certain players. It’s totally different. » Justice will have the opportunity to listen to the different versions in a few weeks.
