While he came close to death following a horse riding accident last May, Sergio Rico now seems to be safe from all dangers after a successful operation and his release from Seville hospital. This Saturday, the Spanish goalkeeper spoke to the media of his club, PSG. While he was questioned about his long months of pain and his future goals, the 30-year-old goalkeeper gave touching confidences.

Also asked about the start of the Parisian season, the former Sevilla FC goalkeeper confided that he was very diligent in watching each PSG match. Despite the hiccup at home against Nice this Friday, Rico is not worried and is, on the contrary, very optimistic for Luis Enrique’s Paris: “Yes, I saw all the matches. I think it’s a new chapter, there are a lot of new players, there have been a lot of departures. And then there is a new coach, you have to adapt to his methods, to what he wants to see on the pitch in each match. Then it’s just a matter of time before it’s extraordinary. Luis Enrique is a great coach, the players have demonstrated and continue to demonstrate that they are great professionals. So I think it’s only a matter of time before Paris Saint-Germain comes on strong and wins all their matches.»
