The match finally got wild in the last fifteen minutes of play. While Leon Goretzka thought he gave the Bavarians a definitive advantage on a magnificent number from Mathys Tel (2-1, 86th), Bayer Leverkusen came back from the deaths in added time thanks to a logical penalty and transformed by Exequiel Palacios (2-2, 90+4th). Dayot Upamecano almost was the hero of a happy ending for Bayern Munich but the French defender’s goal was ultimately canceled due to an offside position (90+8th). With this draw, the two teams remain undefeated in the league and are tied for first with ten points.
