This Friday, Bayer Leverkusen traveled to Bayern Munich for a Bundesliga clash between two teams in good form at the start of the season and who monopolized the first two places in the ranking. And from the first minutes of play, the locals opened the scoring thanks to Harry Kane who scored his fourth league goal of the season with a header into the empty goal (1-0, 7th). While the Bavarians still had their foot on the ball and dominated their subject, they were finally caught on a gem of a free kick (1-1, 24th). Serial scorer Victor Boniface thought he would give the B04 the advantage (33rd) but the Nigerian scorer was ultimately offside and the two teams parted back to back at the break.

Returning from the locker room, the residents of the Allianz Arena regained control of the game but Lukas Hradecky intervened perfectly in front of Harry Kane (57th). And while Bayern Munich seemed to have the technical ascendancy over their opponents, Xabi Alonso’s flock almost took the lead but Florian Wirtz hit the post (78th) when Boniface, despite himself, became the author, from an improbable miss (80th). The match finally got wild in the last fifteen minutes of play. While Leon Goretzka thought he gave the Bavarians a definitive advantage on a magnificent number from Mathys Tel (2-1, 86th), Bayer Leverkusen came back from the deaths in added time thanks to a logical penalty and transformed by Exequiel Palacios (2-2, 90+4th). Dayot Upamecano almost was the hero of a happy ending for Bayern Munich but the French defender’s goal was ultimately canceled due to an offside position (90+8th). With this draw, the two teams remain undefeated in the league and are tied for first with ten points.
