According to Jérôme Rothen, Marco Verratti cannot be called a PSG legend. The sports consultant prefers to opt for the expression “emblematic player”.
Arriving in 2012 from Pescara, the defensive midfielder became the record holder of Ligue 1 titles with the Rouge et Bleu. “He is an emblematic player who has marked the history of the club, that is a certaintyestimated Jérôme Rothen on RMC. But I wouldn’t go as far as the word legend. For me, there can’t be twenty legends. He is the most successful player. Even if the Qataris arrived with great resources that were not available before, it doesn’t matter. Titles, you have to win them, you have to be present. Staying for more than ten years at a club like PSG is an achievement. » Verratti is to date PSG’s second most capped player (416 matches).

According to The Parisian, a tribute to the “little owl” is indeed planned at the Parc de Princes. Friday, the capital club will host OGC Nice on the occasion of the fifth day of Ligue 1. Verratti’s farewell will perhaps take place that evening.
