Heard on Wednesday by the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry devoted to sports federations, Laurent Blanc demanded a radical reaction in the event of facts or remarks of a racist nature.
Like Karim Benzema and other players in the sporting world, Laurent Blanc had the opportunity to speak on Wednesday before the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry dedicated to sports federations. If there was necessarily a lot of talk about the quota affair which had marked his mandate as coach of the France team, the former coach of Olympique Lyonnais also spoke of the measures to be taken, according to him, in the event of proven racist remarks or behavior during football matches.
“ I am in favor of stopping the matchesthus clarified Laurent Blanc, in comments relayed by The Team. Football is not perfect, but I think it is moving in the right direction on these issues. (…) Between players, if there are racist remarks, the match must be stopped dead in its tracks. Ditto if there are any in the stands.“
A proposal for the FFF
The 1998 world champion also spoke about the number of mandates of the president of the French Football Federation, which he would like to see limited. “ They are limited to two for a President of the Republic. This is not the case for a federation president. He can serve one, two, three, five, six terms. We end up with omnipotent presidents.“
Free again since the premature end of his adventure on the OL bench, Laurent Blanc will now look for a new mission. Unless he goes back to playing golf.
