The figures for the wage bill limit granted by La Liga to clubs in the Spanish championship have been revealed. FC Barcelona will still have to make do.

There will be no surprise on the side of Joan Laporta and the management of FC Barcelona. Since taking over the club, the Blaugrana president has been hard at work trying to restore order to a club which seriously flirted with the red line under the previous presidency. It is therefore without falling backwards that Joan Laporta will have discovered the figures for the payroll limit imposed by La Liga on his club and on all those in the first and second Spanish divisions. Barça still has a huge delay on Real Madrid.

These famous data were revealed Thursday by La Liga which revealed that FC Barcelona does not have the right to spend more than 270 million euros this season regarding this salary limit. For its part, Real Madrid is much better off and sees its ceiling increase from €683.46 million last season to €727.45 million for this financial year. This is almost three times more than his Catalan opponent. Note that the fall is all the more brutal for Barcelona as its salary limit last year was €648 million. This explains in particular why the club could not afford players like Bernardo Silva.

No madness

Behind Real Madrid, its neighbor Atlético is the second La Liga club with the highest limit, with €296.36 million. In fourth position comes Sevilla FC (€168.72 million), followed by Villerreal FC (€143.92 million). As a reminder, the cap on payroll is based on the calculation and addition of everything a club spends in terms of salary (players, coaches, staff, reserve team and other sections of the club), but also bonuses collective. FC Barcelona will therefore have to be careful in its financial management this year again. No madness can be considered during the next winter transfer window. If, however, some supporters still hoped for it.
