Traveling to Peru, the Seleçao had to wait for a goal from Marquinhos in the last minute to win (0-1). The evening was much quieter for Argentina.

Two matches, two victories: the two South American leaders did not miss their debut in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Tuesday, three days after a first quiet success against Bolivia (5-1), Brazil passed a much more complicated test in Peru. And this time the Brazilians had to wait until the last moments of the match to see Marquinhos deliver his team (1-0) following a corner taken by Neymar.

Argentina suffered much less in Bolivia despite the altitude. The world champions, however, had to do without Lionel Messi, preserved. But helped by the expulsion of Roberto Fernandez in the first period, the Argentines won 3-0 thanks to goals from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Tagliafico and Nicolas Gonzalez.

In the other matches of this second day, while Chile and Colombia drew, Uruguay fell to Ecuador (2-1) and Venezuela achieved a valuable success against Paraguay (1-0).
