Nike continues its nods to the history of Chelsea Football Club. After an away jersey inspired by the Nineties (90s in English), the comma equipment manufacturer unveiled – finally – this Wednesday the third jersey for the 2023-2024 season, with a mixed start to the year with only two victories between the Premier League and English League Cup (1 draw, 2 defeats).
For this third jersey, the Blues will wear Eton Blue, the club’s original color since it was used at its founding, in 1905, for two years. However, this color is not new in the history of the London club, which won the second division title with an Eton Blue jersey during the 1988-1989 season. A plain tunic, with sleeve edges and collar all in black, with some gray details.
The logos on the front of the tunic (crest and Swoosh) are also in black. The future jersey sponsor, Infinite Athlete, is absent from the third party presentation. Mauricio Pochettino’s men, 12th in the championship after 4 matches, will wear this new jersey for the first time this season upon returning from the international break, with the trip to Bournemouth as part of the 5th day of the Premier League.
