Cameroon qualified for the next CAN by beating Burundi (3-0) thanks in particular to a huge error by the opposing defense.
It was one of the big issues of the last day of the CAN qualifiers. Cameroon was in danger at home against Burundi, but the Indomitable Lions managed to win (3-0) to secure their ticket to Ivory Coast.
After a sterile first period, Rigobert Song’s men were helped by a terrible error from the opposing defense after returning from the locker room. Christophe Nduwarugira completely missed his back pass, which allowed the very fit Bryan Mbeumo to open the scoring (46th).
Cameroon then hit the nail on the head thanks to Rennes’ Christopher Wooh (59th), then the inevitable Vincent Aboubakar also scored his small goal in added time (90th + 3).
