Chelsea’s complicated start to the Premier League season is unlikely to get better after the international break. And for good reason, many players returned from their selection injured. Mauricio Pochettino, the team’s coach, will have difficulty putting together his team for the next match.
Pochettino will have to rack his brains
The Argentine coach must deal with a long injury list which includes many of the club’s recruits. Romeo Lavia, Benoit Badiashile, Reece James, Mykhailo Mudryk, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah are suffering from various physical issues and are not expected to be operational for this weekend.
Carney Chukwuemeka is also not ready to return to coaching. As for the French duo, Christopher Nkunku and Wesley Fofana, he is sidelined for a long time due to serious injury.
Chelsea have won just one of their first four matches of the season and are in an inglorious 12e place in the ranking. His next outing will see him move onto the Bournemouth pitch.
