After two stints at Inter Milan and rumors around Juventus Turin, it was finally to AS Roma that Romelu Lukaku flew at the end of the summer. Not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Chelsea, the Belgian striker is preparing to discover the Italian capital under the orders of José Mourinho. On YouTube, the Roman club published an official video of the experienced striker’s first 24 hours. Romelu Lukaku already seems won over. “You know what’s good? That Roma fans support the players so much when they play well. This, for a person like me and for the rest of the team, is good for all of us. Again: ‘What was I thinking when the fans banged on the airport gate?’ So many positive things, that’s what you want to experience when you play football. We live to feel these emotions”says Lukaku, surprised by the welcome the Romans gave him.

When the Belgian saw the famous Colosseum for the first time, he was ecstatic: “It’s nice to see, it’s the first time for me, because I’ve never been there. Now I can see the symbol of Rome, it’s a moment I’ve been waiting for for many years because when I was little it was impossible to see it. Now I’m here and I want to take beautiful photos to show my children.” Words that will make AS Roma fans smile even if the former Chelsea striker was never really adopted by his respective former clubs…
