A former Liverpool great has called on the club to part ways with their striker Mohamed Salah.
Former Liverpool star John Aldridge says it would be wise to sell Mohamed Salah next year. At the same time, he insisted that Salah should definitely not be allowed to leave in January.
“Salah couldn’t leave this year”
He said in his column for the Liverpool Echo: “Salah is probably the best Muslim player of all time, just like the best players in the world right now, and they want him at all costs. Its value will only increase and next summer they may have to part with it, but they can get even more money. It’s not for me to say whether he should be allowed to leave next summer, but it depends on his contract. He only has a year left after next summer. The club knows that if Mo wants to go to Saudi Arabia. “It would be stupid if he has one year left on his contract, not to sell him and let him go free the following year.”
While asking that LFC consider a sale of the Pharaoh, the former Irish footballer indicated that he never believed in Salah leaving this year. “I had no doubts about Mohamed Salah, only a fool would have thought he was going to leave. We can’t weaken the team, we can’t weaken our chances of winning cups, and if you sell him, it makes a big difference because you can’t do anything for months.”
Finally, Aldridge said that Salah still has around ten years at the highest level given his professionalism and the rigor he puts into his work. “He will play until he is 39 or 40, so he has seven or eight years left if he wants to play in this league. He’s in great shape, takes care of himself, doesn’t get injured – knock on wood – and Liverpool are sitting on what I call the ‘Cullinan Diamond’, which is the biggest diamond in the world! »
