Former French international, Christian Karembeu, believes that the Blues midfielder does not yet exude enough confidence.
The French team is currently achieving good results and among the sectors which give the most satisfaction is the midfield. Despite the combined absences of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté, the midfield turns out to be very solid with the presence of the Rabiot – Tchouaméni – Griezmann trio within it.
For Karembeu, “the Blues midfielder lacks experience”
However, there are some who are not totally enthusiastic about this trident. This is mainly the case of Christian Karembeu, the former French international. In an interview with Wettbasis.com, the latter even went so far as to say that midfield is the sector where there is the greatest room for improvement.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say that the midfield is a weak point, but there is clearly still a bit of a lack of experience, he confided. Aurélien Tchouaméni, Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot are also solid players. We keep improving. They play in big European teams. We don’t have to worry about France. »
The former Real player, however, was won over by the attack. The abundance of assets ahead makes him very confident for the future of the France team: “The attack is absolutely world class. Deschamps not only has Kylian Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud at his disposal, he also has exceptional weapons like Kingsley Coman, Ousmane Dembélé, Moussa Diaby, Christopher Nkunku, Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani under his thumb. It’s truly unique.”
France has not won the Euro since 2000. Karembeu was in the game then. Kanak, however, strongly believes in the ability of his compatriots to win a third continental trophy next year. “Despite the retirements of its pillars in recent years, such as captain Hugo Lloris and Raphaël Varane, France remains very strong and plays at an incredible level (…) Things are going very well in the qualifications for the Championship. Europe, despite high-level opponents like the Netherlands and Ireland. It is clear that France will be one of the big favorites for the European Championship next year. »
