It’s over for the Blues

After its perfect run in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, the France team conceded its first goal in 2023 during the friendly match against Germany on Tuesday evening in Dortmund.

If you missed this, know that the France team won the 5 matches it played in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, without conceding a single goal against the Netherlands, at Ireland (twice), Gibraltar and Greece. Mike Maignan, number 1 of the Blues after the retirement of Hugo Lloris in the wake of the 2022 World Cup, was able to keep his clean sheet in these qualifications.

Didier Deschamps’ team, however, conceded a goal against Germany on Tuesday evening in a friendly match, Thomas Müller shaking the Maignan net with a powerful strike in the 4th minute of the game. Maignan therefore goes 5 matches without conceding a goal (which Lloris has never achieved in 14 years in EDF) and France has therefore conceded its first goal in 2023.

A certain Lionel Messi was the last scorer against the France team, in the 108th minute of the World Cup final in Qatar, on December 18.
