Olympique Lyonnais will cause a sensation in the coming days by appointing their new coach after the sidelining of Laurent Blanc. The leaders of Les Gones are indeed looking for an internationally renowned coach and it is Gennaro Gattuso who holds the rope. As RMC indicated on Tuesday, the former star midfielder of AC Milan accepted the idea of managing the current bottom of Ligue 1 (only one point in 4 days).
But John Textor, the club’s American owner, has yet to give the green light and, from England, a 90min journalist announced that OL were also targeting Frank Lampard! Textor, who is a shareholder in Crystal Palace, had initially thought of Graham Potter, who refused, but would now try to offer the services of a Premier League legend.

In any case, neither Gattuso nor Lampard are references as a coach. The Italian world champion (2006) did not convince, notably at the head of AC Milan (2017-2019) and Napoli (2019-2021), while the top scorer in the history of Chelsea failed as much at the helm of the Blues (2019-2021) as at the helm of Everton afterwards (last season).
