France lost in a friendly against Germany on Tuesday. A setback which embarrassed Deschamps and his men.
It was only a friendly match, but the Blues and their coach would have done well without the defeat they conceded. The France team fell this Tuesday against Germany in a friendly (2-1). The performance was not successful and that is why there was this ax. In their post-match reactions, Didier Deschamps and his men regretted this setback. But they were not discouraged, promising to learn the necessary lessons from this failed outing.
Didier Deschamps (coach of the French team on TF1):
“It never makes me happy, and neither do the players. We had a catastrophic start to the match. Afterwards, I made changes in the eleven, yes, some forced. But even if Germany is opposite, it allows us to see other players. I can’t say we gave away both goals. We did some interesting things. Having fewer benchmarks can harm collective performance. It was especially the start of the match, where we were behind on the duels and the moves. We were not aggressive enough, not active enough. Afterwards, we got back on the right path. Obviously, it’s not what I expected, but there are extenuating circumstances. The high level is that too. He is ruthless. In the end, it’s a defeat for us.”

Aurélien Tchouaméni (midfielder of the French team on TF1):
“I wouldn’t say he lacked the desire, because we remain competitors. But in certain phases of the game, we were less effective than usual. At this level, it’s paid in cash. Overall, we didn’t have a bad match. They were keen to get a good result and they started their match well. We will have to rectify in the next matches. There are still things to work on. We must not forget the good period we were in. It never feels good to lose, but that’s the game.”
Jean-Clair Todibo (defender of the French team on TF1):
“A start to the game where we got off to a bad start. We get trapped from 4e minute. We should have done better. Afterwards, we manage to gain the upper hand, but we lack a little success in the cage. It was up to us to break them today and we didn’t manage to do it. My 1e ? Yes, I honored her, but I would have a bitter taste because there is defeat and the 2e The goal is clearly for me because I miss my pass.”
Kingsley Coman (attacker for the French team on TF1):
“What went wrong?” The goal at the start of the match does not help us. We didn’t have many chances. We had a different tactic from previous matches. I tried to bring danger. Forgot the alarm clock at the beginning? Sometimes it’s like that. They (the Germans) had a lot of desire. They were in a different situation from us. Stoppage? Yes, obviously, there is always a questioning after a defeat. But we know that we have a great group and that it’s a friendly one.”
