The series retracing the thousand lives of Bernard Tapie would not be completely faithful to reality. At least that’s what Laurent Tapie, the son of the former president of OM, believes.
This Wednesday, Netflix will put “Tapie” online, a series which traces the rise of the businessman with many lives. Laurent Lafitte plays him during seven 50-minute episodes of a biopic directed by Olivier Demangel and Tristan Séguéla. Problem is, during his lifetime, the person concerned had always opposed this project. His family too.
This Tuesday morning, Laurent Tapie, the son of the former president of OM, spoke on this subject. “I regret that it is not at the level of what I would have hoped. I don’t regret that it exists (…) I think the approach is good. But the fact that the son of my father’s best friend did the series on his own without consulting us, we took it a little badly”he told Pascal Praud in “L’heure des pros” on CNews.

Bernard Tapie had announced to director Tristan Séguéla that he was opposed to this series, who replied that he did not need his agreement. “I understand that he wants this to be his project. It’s an entrepreneurial approach. You don’t have to ask for permission. What I regret is having made the choice to write fiction. He takes elements from my father’s life and, around these elements which are real, he embroiders a completely invented story.deplores son Tapie, who is also a businessman, notably owner of the rights to the Delage automobile brand since 2019.
