Luis Enrique is a man who does not hesitate when it comes to making choices. The least we can say is that he does not let himself be influenced and does not hesitate to go against popular opinion if he believes it is the best thing for his team. Supporters of the Spanish selection and Iberian journalists have seen this on numerous occasions, just as PSG fans will do in the coming months.

On the Paris side, there is a man to whom the arrival of the Asturian seems to be detrimental. However, it is his compatriot and former player Fabian Ruiz. The Betis-trained midfielder has only started one of the capital club’s four matches in Ligue 1. Which does not prevent him from being important in the selection, and he is even a frame for the new coach Luis de la Fuente. Which is causing a lot of talk across the Pyrenees.

Luis Enrique, resentful?

“Performances (in selection, Editor’s note) which prove Luis Enrique wrong, because it is difficult to understand the little importance he has in his club”explains the Spanish media Relevo, in an article which clearly praises the midfielder who passed through Naples. Same story in A.S.. “It’s not the Spanish fan who should trust Fabian Ruiz more, it’s Luis Enrique. It’s incomprehensible that the Andalusian is warming the bench at PSG”we can read in the newspaper, which mentions a falling out between the two men during a selection training course.

“Fabian Ruiz gives reason to Luis de la Fuente”explains for his part Mundo Deportivohighlighting the player’s good performances since the new coach took power, like this match against Georgia or the Nations League final against the Croatians. “Fabian, endorsed by Luis Enrique, main leader of Luis de la Fuente and undefeated with Spain”goes his own way Marca. Perhaps we should remind our Spanish friends that last season, without being bad, Fabian Ruiz didn’t really shine in the French capital either…
