New disaster for Paul Pogba. The French Juventus midfielder tested positive for testosterone on August 20.
The descent into hell continues for Paul Pogba. After spending many months battling injuries, and without forgetting the violent confinement and attempted extortion to which he was subjected, the French world champion now finds himself at the heart of a doping affair. According to the main Italian media, such as Gazzetta dello Sport, the native of Lagny-sur-Marne tested positive for testosterone.
The doping control was carried out on August 20, during the first day of Serie A, when Juventus traveled to Udinese. Returning from injury, Pogba remained on the bench during this meeting. The Frenchman came into play on the following two days, against Bologna and at Empoli.
Testosterone is a substance that cannot be taken without therapeutic exemption, recalls Gazzetta dello Sport. It’s a pretty heavy banned product, which means that Pogba therefore risks a maximum penalty of four years of suspension.
Undermined by injuries, Pogba, 30, has not been called up for the France team since the friendly match against South Africa in March 2022. He had to give up the World Cup in November. And his sporting future today could not be more vague.
