Ballon d’Or: Voters accused!

While he has become an essential element of the Blues midfield, Adrien Rabiot was surprised by his absence among the 30 players selected for the Ballon d’Or.

Adrien Rabiot took on a new dimension last season. While he did not appear until then as an indisputable starter at Juventus Turin and also sometimes had to be content with a replacement role with the Blues, the former Parisian has in fact made himself indispensable both among the Bianconeri than in the French team. And the long absences of Paul Pogba or N’Golo Kanté are not enough to explain this new status.

During the World Cup in Qatar, Adrien Rabiot particularly impressed with his volume of play and established himself as one of the strong men of the world vice-champions. However, the Ile-de-France player clearly did not convince the college brought together by France Football to nominate the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or. An absence which surprised the person concerned. “ Indifferent no (about his absence), because I tell myself that I still had a very big season on an individual level and because seeing certain players who appear there, I thought that it was not is not necessarily logical”, he thus confided in the columns of The Team.

And Adrien Rabiot points out the lack of consistency among voters. “Those who decide all this may not have a player’s entire season in mind. Sometimes one or two good matches in the Champions League can be enough,” he actually added.
