Clubs from Saudi Arabia have proven to be among the biggest vultures of the summer transfer window, spending more than most European clubs combined. This is unlikely to stop anytime soon.
FC Barcelona was one of the first clubs to do business with Saudi Arabia. Franck Kessié has joined Al Ahli, but other Blaugrana players could have joined him. One of them, Robert Lewandowski, refused to become another big name in Saudi football.
Unfortunately for Barcelona, interest in Lewandowski is not disappearing, and Esports3 reported that Saudi Arabia will try to sign the 35-year-old again, this time during the winter transfer window.
What is reassuring for Barcelona is that Lewandowski – at this stage – does not seem interested in this transfer. This means he will remain a key player in Catalonia, especially as he has returned to form in recent weeks.
